FSX CatBlaster 2P
Stage 1 – Pneumatic Cleaner
The FSX CatBlaster 2P is a pneumatic cleaning machine designed to clean closed-end DPF and DOC found on light-duty and automotive diesel engines. The touchscreen makes the machine simple to use and is adaptable to fit the majority of filters.
The FSX CatBlaster 2P provides an automated process that gives accurate flow testing and bi-directional cleaning that removes soot and ash from challenging filters. Bypass detection shows the operator filters that have failed within moments of starting the machine. The FSX CatBlaster 2P is the first step in the cleaning process. Due to the challenge of cleaning closed-end DPFs. Wet cleaning using the FSX CatBlaster 2H may be necessary.

Bi-Directional Cleaning
The FSX CatBlaster 2P uses alternating pulses of air to dislodge soot and ash from the filter cells. Pulses are applied to the inlet side, to loosen and break up any hardened soot and ash trapped inside the filter. Pulses applied to the outlet side remove the soot and ash from the filter. The FSX CatBlaster 2P bi-directional cleaning technology is proven to provide the highest quality clean.
Bypass Detection
The FSX CatBlaster 2P has a built-in bypass detection system that identifies defective DPFs within the first two minutes of operation. The operator can identify cracked or melted DPFs if clouds of soot and ash are visible through the windows. If the DPF is bypassing soot and ash the operator can stop the cleaning process and move on to the next filter.
Bypass detection is an important diagnostic tool. FSX bypass detection technology gives you absolute confirmation of filter integrity and assures that you do not waste time cleaning a defective filter or reinstalling a defective filter.
Visible Cleaning
The operator is able to see the cleaning process through the windows of the machine. Visible cleaning allows the operator to see if the filter has defects, and the speed and success of cleaning. and know when the cleaning is complete.
The average cleaning time is 15 minutes. Cleaning time will vary due to the hardened ash and the volume of soot.
When soot and ash stop coming out of the filter the cleaning process is complete.
If bypass is observed the filter is defective.
Fully Adjustable
The FSX CatBlaster 2P comes with a complete set of adaptors to accommodate most every filter model on the market. Custom adapters are available upon request. The FSX CatBlaster 2P will automatically reload to previously set the parameters used for the previous cleaning.
The machine cleans DPFs up to 60″ long, 24″ in height, and 32″ in diameter (1520mm L, 610 mm W, 810 mm D). Longer filters can be cleaned outside the chamber with special hoses (not included).
The set-up time for a new filter takes about five minutes and provides the controls for the FSX CatBlaster 2H, the Stage 3 wet cleaning machine.
Automated Process
The FSX CatBlaster 2P uses a touchscreen control which creates a simple method of choosing standard cleaning programs. Custom cleaning programs are simple to build, set up, and run.
The FSX CatBlaster 2P leaves the operator free to walk away and perform other tasks. The machine will work like a robot in your shop.
High Throughput
The average cleaning time for the FSX CatBlaster 2P is 15 minutes. Cleaning time will vary due to the hardened ash and the volume of soot.
The minimum cleaning time is roughly 10 minutes and the maximum cleaning time is roughly 60 minutes.
Shop throughput is 24 filters per 8-hour shift and 72 filters per 24-hour shift.
High Cleaning Efficiency
Most filters cleaned are successfully reinstalled after being cleaned on an FSX CatBlaster 2P.
Soot removal = up to 96%
Ash Removal = up to 96%
*Ash removal rates vary depending on how hard ash has become inside the cells. Ash hardens from high-temperature thermal cycles and the addition of chemicals in coolant. The highest cleaning success is achieved on filters that are cleaned sooner than later.
The success of cleaning and fall-out rates vary by engine and manufacture duty cycle and preventative maintenance.
FSX technology used in the FSX CatBlaster 2P has been proven to not damage the filter media or the wash coats.
Safe for Operators
The machine stops if the door is opened.
CE, ETL, CSA rated: Lockout/Tagout switch
Ergonomically friendly, filters load into the machine at 34″ shelf height
The FSX SootSucker collector is interlocked to ensure the vacuum is on when the pneumatic cleaning starts
Dust is fully contained and evacuated from the cleaning chamber (see FSX SootSucker)
Proven safe operation on installations worldwide.
Environmental Safety
Dry waste in the form of soot and ash particulate is easy to handle and dispose of.
Particulate is vacuumed away and dropped into a 5-gallon bucket that is easy to handle (see FSX SootSucker)
Dispose of your dust into your local solid waste disposal system, Most jurisdictions allow you to dispose of dust within your normal solid waste dumpster.
*check with your local regulations before disposing
